The month of January

There may not be a whole lot going on in January as far as western celebrations. It’s in the middle of the winter, and everyone is still recovering from the holidays and festivities from December. It can be easy to fall into feelings of melancholy this month as much of the northern hemisphere is still blanketed in snow and spring seems very far off.

But January is a month of crossroads. New Year resolutions and promises as we look into the upcoming year with optimism and hope. The winter has been long and hard, and it’s easy to fall into depression and feelings of lethargy because of the cold weather, but we know that spring is coming and we just need to hold out a little longer.

Use January to prepare for the upcoming year, dwell on hope, and make aspirations for the forthcoming year and to strengthen your resolve to stick to those aspirations as we move into another year. Yes, it is cold, yes it is bleak, but spring is on its way, and there is hope.

I am a writer and a graphic designer who has a lot to say about life! I am a woman in her 30's who lives in California with her husband. Most of all, I am an explorer. I express myself through the written word and the visual world. I have Aspergers but I don't see it as a 'disability' but rather, an identity. It is who I am.
