I just wanted to share that I now own this domain. My new blog name and URL will be anaspiegirlsworld.com. I’m still trying to figure out how it all works, but I’m hoping that as I learn more about design and maybe even a little coding, I will be able to personalize it. Eventually, I’d like to include it on my own website, but small steps.
But with a new domain, I can now focus on things like SEO to make my blog a little more noticeable and such. And with that, I wanted to try to make a new commitment to posting more frequently. I have always tried to make a post at least once a week, but I want to try to up that to three times a week. I’ll probably write them all on Sunday evenings or Monday mornings and schedule them to come out through the course of the week.
Anyway, I want to commit to being more organized with my topics. There are a lot of different topics I cover in my blogs, but I just wanted to go over them and explain where I see this blog going.
The first topic will be ‘my thoughts on identity and society’ these topics will focus on my ideas concerning my own various identities and how I relate to others around me. Things like race, gender, gender orientation, religion, being autistic, being childfree by choice, that sort of thing. These topics may get to be a little on the controversial side, but I always try to maintain a positive outlook on things. The biggest thing I’d like to say with this topic is that I do not choose sides. I will be just as critical and analytical, no matter what and try to maintain a non-bias view. These thoughts aren’t meant to be confrontational, only to provide a logical view of things. I think when it comes to these things, it’s best not to let your emotions cloud your judgment or your ability to have an open mind.
The second topic category is spirituality and paganism. I want to continue with my thoughts as I have in the past, regarding the wheel of the year, which is very important to me. Also, I will share my altar and decorations (with pictures!), ideas for the home, how I celebrate the sabbats, what the sabbats mean to me, and how to honor ancestors and many other things that are relevant to my personal path.
The third topic is a little fun thing I would like to do. I am a writer, you all know that by now and one of the important things I’d like to do as a writer is start a critique log of my favorite fandoms. These will be about Star Trek and Supernatural, and maybe a little critique on what books I am reading at the moment. Every week, I’ll critique one episode either from Star Trek The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager or from Supernatural. I’ll start from season one, but I won’t critique every since episode, just my favorites and why they hold meaning to me and how, in the case of Star Trek, in particular, they shaped my life growing up. I’ll probably also mention fan fiction I may be working on in here.
The fourth topic will be topics on my novels. The progress on The Next Dimension and a new project I am working on. In addition, I’ll talk about the craft of writing.
The fifth topic will be my travel log. This one will include thoughts on the places I travel to when I travel. This may also be a category where I will review certain restaurants, hotels, etc. if requested by a client (for a price). I will admit that since I’m not exactly rich, this topic category won’t get updated often, just as needed when I go somewhere and feel the need to comment on where I go.
The sixth category will be science and history. I am a huge science and history nerd, and I love to explore those aspects. I often watch documentaries, and these often spark thoughts and reflections on specific topics, so I will put those in this category.
The seventh and last category will be graphic design. In addition to freelance writing, I am also teaching myself graphic design in hopes of combining the two, and I’d like to share what I learn. I will post various projects I happen to be working on, the progress I am making with them, and the finished projects, and what I learned through the course of making them. I specialize in the Adobe programs, and I am self-taught in all of them so, I am always learning new tricks, and I’d be happy to pass along what I learn.
So that’s it for now, I’m excited about the new direction of this blog, and I hope you, my readers, are as well!
